The “heart and soul” of championship Brooklyn Dodgers squads of the 1950s, Roy Campanella is still a beloved icon for Flatbush faithful. Graded NM 7 by PSA, this elusive 1952 Topps #314 high number is a premier representation of the courageous backstop. Emerging from a radiant yellow backdrop, Campanella’s smiling portrait is framed by well-constructed corners and edges. Despite slightly askew centering, the precise registration and crisp uniform detailing is difficult to match. The reverse is clean with bold, black type. Resides in the 74th percentile of similar Campy examples judged by the grading service.
