As the premier card in the most popular post-war baseball card set, the Mickey Mantle Topps #311 rookie card commands the utmost respect around the hobby. This is an attractive example that has marvelous eye appeal. The blue sky and golden bat colors are extremely bold, and one can easily tell the Yankee hat is a deep navy blue. With sharp registration, vibrant colors and very minor wear on the corners, this stellar “Commerce Comet” rookie falls at the upper end of the technical range for a PSA 7 card. Whether or not “The Mick” is looking back at Joe DiMaggio in the image saying, “it is now my turn, Joe” or looking toward his future Hall of Fame career, this specimen is forever preserved as a PSA 7 for future generations.
